Americanism

As Exchangites, we promote pride in our country. We aim to build greater respect for the Pledge of Allegiance and promote increased use of the Pledge in schools and at public gatherings. Through the programs below, the Exchange Club of Murphy celebrates our country's rich history and inspire unity throughout our community.

Field of Honor

On selected national holidays, the Exchange Club of Murphy posts full-sized American flags at the Murphy City Hall complex along North Murphy Road between the pond and Fire Station.

Freedom Shrine

The Freedom Shrine is an impressive display of a collection of historic document replicas that serves to remind us of the great efforts that have been taken to ensure our freedom. Freedom Shrines are on display in the Murphy Community Center, Murphy Middle School, and Boggess Elementary School.

Give a Kid a Flag to Wave

You can find Exchange Club members at all our Murphy events, handing out miniature American flags to kids.

Cards for Veterans

Our members collect and write cards for veterans throughout the year. In previous years, we have hand-delivered these cards to the Veterans Hospital in Bonham, Texas, with the hopes of bringing good cheer and uplifting spirits.
